Tell me more about the selection criteria

We have 4 filters.

The first filter ensures that the stock has been traded for a certain number of years.

The second filter checks that the stock has risen for a certain percentage of those years. Stocks do not have to have risen 100% of the time, but the percentage is pretty high.

The third filter ensures that the percentage gains have reached a particular level.

The fourth filter is what we call our x-factor, adding this has made a significant improvement to the profit levels obtained.

We then back tested using all 4 filters adjusting the parameters for optimum performance. Interestingly, we found that limiting the stocks to those that had a 100% track record for the month did not provide the most profitable solution.

The number of stocks that satisfy our criteria varies from month to month.

Jan 2007 had 51 stocks; Feb has 3 stocks; Mar has 7 stocks; Apr has 4 stocks; May has 5 stocks; Jun has 13 stocks; Jul has 2 stocks; Aug has 4 stocks; Sep has 0 stocks; Oct has 27 stocks; Nov has 27 stocks; and we have not yet calculated Dec 2007.

The UK stock market has far fewer stocks to pick from and generally the number of stocks is much lower with several months where no stocks satisfy the selection criteria.

As we stated, it may not always be appropriate to buy all the stocks in the list and you may apply your own criteria when deciding which stocks to buy. Generally, we would hope that this would only improve your return.

We also tested the system for stocks that perform badly during a particular month. This did not provide us with a profitable system, but we did include our findings for completeness.

Can I get a trial subscription

We would love to be able to send you a trial. However, rather than keep our subscribers waiting from month to month for the stock lists, we publish these lists up to 10 months in advance. This permits you to monitor these stocks for a while and to get a feel for the stocks.  It also gives you more flexibility in  your timing.

As soon as you subscribe, you get almost one full year of forward data and all of the past transactions. Currently, we do not have a method to limit the amount of data for trial users.

We can tell you that there were 51 stocks listed for January 2007, including: CYTR, PRFT, TFSM HLIT, WFR, SCSS, HLTH, AND NTY.
